On March 4th 2010, Gemma Calbet from Cardiff College International travelled to Barcelona and represented the ‘Learn English in Wales Group’ at a Reception for St David’s Day in Catalonia.
The reception was held in the ‘Museu d’Historia de Catalunya’ and was to celebrate both St David’s Day – St David is the patron saint of Wales – and the strong links that Wales and Catalonia share. It was attended by officials from the Catalan Government (La Generalitat) and the Welsh Assembly, the British Consul General in Barcelona, as well as by representatives from other groups and organisations.

Barcelona is a great city. It’s good to see the links between the Welsh and the Catalan people being celebrated.
