The International Development Division houses Cardiff University’s official English language teaching centre for international students. From September to June we specialise in courses that prepare students for higher education in the UK, in particular English for Academic Purposes – including IELTS preparation and Pre-University courses – and International Foundation Programmes to prepare students for undergraduate studies at the University. From June to September, our International Summer School provides three types of study: firstly, our General English & Communicative Skills Programme for anyone aged 18+ who wants to improve their English using all the University facilities while living on campus for up to 8 weeks. Secondly, our intensive course in English for Academic Purposes for students who already have an offer of an undergraduate or postgraduate place at Cardiff University. Thirdly, the 8-week Pre-International Foundation Programme for students who have applied to study on Cardiff’s International Foundation in the following September.
